Choose your trek
The trekking prices are fixed and set by the Bukit Lawang Guide Association for groups of 2 persons minimum. For solo travelers, we can arrange for you to join a trekking group to benefit from lower prices. Maximum group size: 6 persons.
There are no fixed dates for our treks. We can organise any trek 365 days / year!
Half-day intro trek
A gentle half-day walk into the forest edge near Bukit Lawang. Perfect for families with young children, or anyone easing into the jungle. See butterflies, macaques, and if you're lucky, a wild orangutan feeding in the canopy. Return to the village by walk.
Full-day immersion
Leave Bukit Lawang after breakfast and hike into primary rainforest. Track orangutans and gibbons with your guide, stop to watch fauna and flora. Eat lunch and fruit snacks. Return by middle afternoon to the village by rafting (tubing) on the river.
1 night in the jungle
Our most popular trek. Sleep under the rainforest canopy in a simple jungle camp beside a clear river. Wake to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Two full days of trekking with a night of fire-cooked food, star-gazing, and the sounds of the forest.
Deep jungle experience
Two full days deep inside Gunung Leuser tracking orangutans, gibbons and Thomas leaf monkeys, sleeping in two different jungle camps by the forest river, then tubing back to Bukit Lawang on the final morning.
Cross-terrain trek
Push further into remote valleys where few visitors go. Cross rivers, climb ridges for canopy views, and camp in two different locations. Higher chance of seeing slow loris, sun bears, and sambar deer.
Full jungle immersion
A true expedition from the Bohorok river deep into the northern reaches of Leuser. Six nights camping, moving camp each day, with specialist guides who know every trail. For serious trekkers who want the full wild-Sumatra experience.
